For many the Western Cape is the highlight of any holiday in Southern Africa. This package is especially designed so that clients can experience the best of Cape Town, Hermanus and the Cape Winelands. This trip includes some of the nicest and most interesting parts of the Western Cape using some of best hotels in the area.
This is the ultimate self-drive holiday in the Cape Town area, but if you prefer we will of course happily adapt the package so that it includes transfers and a guide instead of a car rental.

The Trip in Detail
A closer look at your holiday
Day 1 -5 One & Only Hotel/Cape Town
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will pick up you car rental and drive into Cape Town, which is about a 30 minutes’ drive.
In Cape Town you will be staying at the beautiful One & Only Cape Town Hotel, which is situated in the heart of the V&A Waterfront, the entertainment and shopping center in Cape Town.
The One &Only is arguably the best hotel in Cape Town, the rooms are spacious and very luxurious and the service is amazing. The One & Only has a resort style feel and the hotel has 2 great restaurants, a huge pool area and an amazing spa. The pool area is a great place to relax in summer after a busy day of exploring Cape Town.
In Cape Town you will have 4 days to explore the area. Make sure not to miss taking the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, explore the city, go to the beach in Camps Bay, visit Robben Island and drive down to Cape Point and see the Penguins at Boulders Beach. If you would prefer we can of course arrange a private guide for you to take you on some of these excursions.

Day Day 5 - 7 Grootbos/Hermanus
After a delicious breakfast at the One & Only you drive along the coast to Grootbos Nature Reserve. Grootbos is an eco-lodge situated outside the small town of Hermanus about a 2.5 hours’ drive from Cape Town.
This is a very romantic lodge situated on a nature reserve overlooking the ocean. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind, there is so much to do at Grootbos that you probably will not leave the reserve. However, if you want a bit of adventure Gansbaai is only a 20-minute drive away and this is the best spot in South Africa from where to go shark cage diving and to do boat based whale watching (June until November).

Day 7 - 10 Babylonstoren/Cape Winelands
From Grootbos you drive back towards Cape Town through the Cape Winelands, this should take you about 2.5 hours but it might be a bit longer depending on depending on if you stop at wine estate along the way
The final part of your Cape adventure will be at Babylonstoren, a stunning boutique farm hotel situated on a wine estate in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Babylonstoren offers beutifuel accommodation in luxury cottages, a wonderful spa, a great restaurant and an amazing garden and wine tasting facility.
The hotel is perfectly situated in-between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch and it is the ideal base for exploring the many wine estates and restaurants in the area. There are so many world-class restaurants in the area but make sure to have at least one meal at Babel, the restaurant at Babylonstoren. This is a real culinary treat.
