The Trip in Detail
A closer look at your holiday
Day 1-3 Ivory Tree Game Lodge/Pilanesberg
Your African adventure will start in the incredible Pilanesberg, a fantastic malaria-free national park just 2 hours from Johannesburg by car. This easily accessible park offers the same exhilarating wildlife experience that larger parks like the Kruger do, with the added benefit of not having to take malaria medication.
Ivory Tree is a large, resort-style safari lodge featuring a range of activities in addition to game drives, including archery, quad biking and interactive drumming. Spend 2 nights here with daily game drives, excellent meals and beautiful accommodation. The Pilanesberg has the famous Big 5 (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard) as well as numerous other large and small animal species.

Day Day 3-8 Victoria & Alfred Hotel/Cape Town
From the Pilanesberg, you’ll travel back to Johannesburg and catch a flight to Cape Town. Here you’ll stay in the bustling V&A Waterfront, at the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Hotel. Staying in the waterfront puts you within walking distance of a wide range of restaurants, great activities and plenty of shopping.
From the Waterfront you can take a ferry to Robben Island, sunset cruises and even helicopter flips around the peninsula. A quick drive will take you to the city bowl, Company’s Gardens and quirky sidewalk cafes of the many fascinating side streets in Cape Town’s city centre. The Cable Car station for Table Mountain is also within several minutes drive, as are the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. It’s also recommended to take a drive to Cape Point, passing the beautiful towns of Kalk Bay and Simonstown.
