The 2 championship, 72 par golf courses are both designed by Gary Player. The Gary Player Golf Course is home to the Nedbank Golf Challenge, and lies in front of the Sun City Hotel and the Cascades. Both novice and experienced players will be challenged on this imaginative course.
The Lost City Golf Course is also 18 holes, and is famous for its water hazard at the 13th hole - a habitat for Nile crocodiles. This is another expertly designed course by Player, consisting of plenty of water features and incorporating mountain, desert and parkland themes.
The Valley of the Waves and Waterworld
The extensive water theme park is home to a wave pool, a sandy beach reminiscent of a tropical island and a range of fun activities. Enjoy the water slides, take wake board and water skiing lessons, try parasailing and jetskiing, and enjoy sunset cruises and bumper boats.
The Valley of the Waves also offers a teen club and a food court with delicious fast food offerings. This is a great spot for the whole family, and there is always a lifeguard on duty.
Waterworld facilities are open every day in summer between 9:30am and 6:30pm, and in winter between 9:30am and 5:30pm.
When to Visit
un City is malaria-free and enjoys mild, pleasant weather all year round. The hottest periods over the December and January school breaks tend to be the busiest, as holidaymakers head down to the resort.
Winter months are always a good time to visit the area, especially when combining with a Kruger or Pilanesberg safari. Note that this period also entails annual maintenance for the Valley of the Waves - so be sure before you book that this is not scheduled for the month you wish to visit.
