Rhulani, meaning “relax”, lives up to its name in northern South Africa’s beautiful, malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. The small lodge boasts privacy and tranquility with excellent service and fantastic game viewing, including the Big 5.
Dining takes place either indoors or outdoors; the boma, warmed by a roaring fire, is an atmospheric place to experience the lodge’s excellent food, and romantic dinners on guests’ private decks can be arranged for special occasions. Cocktails can be enjoyed by the swimming pool, and the wooden deck is a great place to relax on warm afternoons.
“We had an amazing family safari at Rhulani, the way the staff took care of Emilie was just amazing."
Staying at the Rhulani
7 private chalets each have the luxury of private plunge pools, large oval baths and outdoor showers with uninterrupted bush views. Air conditioning keeps guests cool in the hot summers and a cosy fireplace provides warmth during cold nights. All bedrooms can accommodate extra beds for kids.
Massage treatments can be done on your private deck or in your room. Rhulani is also known for its excellent food, and all dietary preferences and requirements are catered to.
Game viewing takes place from open Land Cruisers, and on foot during game walks with an experienced ranger. The nearby waterhole allows guests to watch animals
from the comfort of the lodge as well. Birders will have plenty to do here, with around 350 bird species in the Madikwe area. Astronomy enthusiasts can participate in guided stargazing.
Rangers at Rhulani have a reputation for excellence and knowledge, and will guide you to the best possible game viewing.
Small conferencing facilities for around 30 delegates are available. Rooms come stocked with full bar fridges, coffee and tea facilities and free WiFi in all areas. Excursions to neighbouring Botswana, and the capital Gaborone, can be arranged for guests.
