Kapama Buffalo Camp
Kapama Buffalo Camp is the most traditional of the safari lodges at Kapama Game Reserve. The lodge consists of ten luxury safari tents, and each are set on stilts high among the treetops overlooking a seasonal riverbed.
Raised wooden walkways connect the tented suites and lead to the main lodge area. The river below rarely flows and antelopes are often seen walking along the riverbed. Each tented room has all the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, safe, writing table, wardrobe, suitcase stand and tea/coffee facilities.
"If you are looking for a really romantic and exciting bush experience why not book the sleep-out at Kapama?."
Safari at Kapama Buffalo Camp
Each en-suite tent at Buffalo Camp accommodates 2 people, and the luxury tents contain all amenities one would expect from 5 star hotels. Tents are air conditioned in summer, and have heated blankets for winter chill.
The communal areas of Kapama Buffalo Camp are on the riverbank, where gardens of aloes and euphorbia are tended around the thatched bar, dining room, pool terrace and campfire. But the thick African bush is just a glance away, inhabited by animals like lion, hyena and jackal whose calls can be heard in the dead of night. Lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow at night under the trees, creating a special intimate ambiance particular to Kapama Buffalo Camp.
Dinners are enjoyed in the lantern- and fire-lit boma, while breakfast and lunch are served beneath a thatched canopy. All meals at Buffalo Camp are excellent, and guests will never go hungry. In addition to the fantastic main meals, snacks and drinks (including coffee and tea in the early mornings) are served just before and on game drives.
Buffalo Camp’s pool area is small and intimate and the pool is big enough for a dip rather than a swim. The pool area is a great place to relax between game drives.
