The Cape Heritage
The Cape Heritage is a historic boutique hotel in the center of Cape Town‘s charismatic streets. The hotel, whose history goes back to the 1800s, is also built around the country’s oldest grapevine and each room manages to preserve a sense of the city’s heritage while maintaining modern luxury and comfort. Original wall niches and fixtures are exposed and protected with glass so that guests can glimpse the building’s history.
Despite being located in a bustling area, close to great bars and restaurants, the hotel is tranquil and the picturesque courtyard is a great spot to have breakfast during warm summer months. The hotel also boasts a rooftop jacuzzi, a great spot to relax and enjoy the city views.
“The Cape Heritage offers wonderful accommodation on Heritage Square in Cape Town, this is a great location when exploring Cape Town's nightlife. One of my favourite restaurants La Parada is just around the corner."
15 bedrooms and 2 suites make this hotel small and intimate. Each room in Cape Heritage is unique, some featuring wood floors with plush carpets, wood and leather trunks and four poster beds, while others are more modern with wall to wall carpets and suede head boards. All rooms are generous and comfortable, and feature beautiful bathrooms with rainfall showers. All bathrooms are modern but reflect the hotel’s vintage aesthetic in their design.
Dark hardwood floors, rich carpets and eclectic decor make the hotel unique, blending Victorian heritage with African touches. Every chandelier in the building is different – look out for one draped with shells, and another with colourful beading. Rooms are temperature controlled, and feature international plug points, free WiFi and televisions. Comfortable and beautifully designed lounge areas on the ground floor provide lovely spots to relax while checking in, or spending quiet afternoons reading and chatting.
Breakfasts at the Cape Heritage are excellent and varied, and the area hosts a multitude of fantastic restaurants and bars. Staff can help you choose restaurants and book cabs for you. On Bree Street itself is La Parada (just a few meters down from the hotel), a fantastic tapas bar with excellent food and cocktails. Africa Cafe, in the adjacent building, provides great local food. Also on Bree is Clarkes, a highly rated American style diner.
