“When we have stayed at Arethusa we have always had the most amazing game encounters, the leopard sightings here are amazing"

Safari at Arathusa

At Arathusa guests are offered two categories of accommodation. Guests can choose to stay in one of the 9 thatched standard rooms or in one of the 4 luxury rooms.

The standard rooms are your traditional round thatched rondavels (huts), the rooms are quite small but they all have en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. The standard rooms are located next to the main lodge and they have great views of the large dam situated in front of the lodge.

At Arathusa there are also 4 luxury rooms. These are very luxurious and spacious and set apart from the main lodge. The luxury rooms consist of a large open plan bedroom, living area and bathroom. All luxury rooms also have a private game viewing deck with their own plunge pool.

Delectable meals are made from fresh produce and the confectioneries are home-baked. Guests will be treated to a continental buffet breakfast whilst a hot meal of your choice is prepared in the kitchen.  The in-house chef prepares a delicious lunch, which is plated and served directly to your table. Dinner at Arathusa is normally served in the outside boma next to the dam.

Lodge guests go on morning and evening game drives together with their game ranger and tracker.  Arathusa also offers guided walks to be more intimate with nature and to see the wildlife up close. This region is a bird-watcher’s mecca: Rare birds such as the Horus Swift can be seen in the camp along with many other species.
