Boschendal – Luxury farm accommodation in the Cape Winelands
The food and the service at the deli where both exceptional. As we were sitting outside it was also a great spot for our little 1-year-old Olivia to run around and explore!
Shortly after lunch the rest of the team joined us and we went to check in to our accommodation on the farm.
Staying at Boschendal
Alexandra and I stayed in one of the very cosy and luxurious one bedroom Werf Cottages. These cottages are situated just a short walk from the manor house and restaurant on Boschendal. The Werf cottages are a perfect option if you are looking for a romantic winelands getaway. The cottages are spacious and beautifully decorated, and for those warm summer days there is also a great pool area.
The rest of the team stayed in one of the Orchard Cottages which are situated a few kilometres from the main area at Boschendal. The team stayed at a beautiful three bedroomed cottage. The Orchard Cottages are ideal for families travelling together, or groups of friends. Just like the Werf Cottages, these cottages are also beautifully decorated and they range in size from one to four bedrooms. Surrounding the Orchard Cottages you will find rolling lawns, a lovely pool area and a fire pit. Here guest can enjoy a traditional South African braai, or even just some drinks around the fire.
Wine at Boschendal
After checking into our amazing accommodation we all headed to the wine tasting area by the main manor house. Here we were treated to an amazing wine tasting experience by Francois. Boschendal produces some amazing wines and even if you are not staying here I would highly recommend that you visit the farm for a wine tasting.
Dinner at the Werf Restaurant
Dinner that night was at the Werf Restaurant, which is situated next to the beautiful manor house. The Werf is a real farm-to-table restaurant, as most of the chef’s ingredients come from the farm or is sourced from nearby producers. We had an amazing 4-course meal, and naturally we also went through quite a few bottles of Boschendal Wine.
The Werf is a great restaurant and I can’t wait to return. It is not only great for dinner but it is a perfect spot for a long, lazy Sunday lunch.
Breakfast at the Deli
After a very peaceful sleep we all met up for breakfast at the Deli. The farm breakfast served at Boschendal was phenomenal! It was a typical South African farm breakfast - you could taste that the ingredients and execution was something quite special.
All in all our stay at Boschendal was amazing; this really is the perfect Cape Winelands getaway. Boschendal has so much to offer, both for couples looking for a romantic hotel in the Winelands but also for families and group of friends travelling together.
